The Orwell Challenge & Elmer's Big Parade!

We are very excited to link up with 2 organisations in 2019 to further promote walking.

The Orwell Challenge

Join hundreds of other walkers, runners and cyclists on Sunday 23rd June 2019 on the Orwell Challenge. Organised by the Rotary Club East Ipswich, the challenge is a marathon long exploration of the River Orwell estuary. The walk is brilliantly organised and makes a great day out, seeing the Orwell estuary and parts of Suffolk not normally open to the public.

Elmer's Big Parade Suffolk

Elmer's Big Parade Suffolk, St Elizabeth Hospice’s latest art trail, organised in partnership with Wild in Art and Andersen Press, is from 15 June to 7 September 2019. Discover 55 beautifully painted, unique sculptures which will brighten up the parks and open spaces of Ipswich town centre and waterfront.

There will also be 84 young Elmer sculptures, decorated by schools and youth groups as part of Elmer’s Learning Herd, displayed across the town. The first big reveal of the young Elmers will take place at the Suffolk Show on 29-30 May, giving visitors a sneak peek before they are installed on the trail.

You can visit the brand new Elmer HQ in Ipswich Town Hall for the duration of the trail - home to an exclusive pop up shop, as well as one of the large sculptures and the Elmer team - a true one-stop-shop for all things Elmer!
